Hey guys, Hope you are having a great weekend. Things are not great at the moment, It’s one thing after another. I do have some good news though I’ve got an appointment to see the pain specialist in the next couple of weeks. So hopefully things will work out and my health will improve.
Well todays post is featuring just one brand, Cougar Beauty I have three of their makeup products and have been enjoying using them for a couple of months now.
Cougar Beauty is a beauty brand here in the UK, Their range has been formulated and designed for those who enjoy high quality products and are not prepared to compromise supplying must have, niche products which aren’t in one month and out the next. They are cruelty free and do not test on animals all products are manufactured in the UK.
They have a huge selection of innovative beauty products catering for men and women.
I came across the brand the end of last year when they were having one of their fantastic “Freebie Fridays” They were giving away a free liquid lipstick so it was the perfect opportunity to try their products and find out more about the brand. So let’s get to the reviews…
I’m starting with free liquid lipstick.
24 Hour Liquid Lipstick Shade Mulberry £7.00
Mulberry is one of five shades in the 24hr Liquid Lipstick range all of them are stunning with a colour for all skin tones and makeup looks.
I chose Mulberry which stood out to me straightaway it is one of my favourite shades to wear it’s a really nice Plum/Taupe shade.
I really like the formula it’s really creamy and is easy to apply, It’s quick drying, long-lasting and once it’s fully dry is also smudge proof.
I like to apply my lip liner first and then one or two coats depending on how bold I want them to be.
Even though it’s a matte lipstick it’s still hydrating and it doesn’t dry out the lips or make them sore.Whenever I use matte liquid lipsticks I always make sure to exfoliate and moisturise my lips giving them an added boost of moisture.
Mulberry is one of those shades which works well with most makeup looks and will give a touch of glam to go from day-to-night.
You can also purchase Mulberry along with the other 4 beautiful shades in a kit – The 5 Piece Lip Vault £22.99 (pictured below) which is made up of their best-selling shades and also includes…
- Calypso: A bright and bold orange/red shade.
- Mulberry: Sultry and seductive plum shade.
- Cocoa: The perfect nude brown.
- Candy: Striking and bright midtone pink.
- Rioja: A deep and daring red wine shade.
Pure Mineral – Contour Kit & 3 Piece Professional Brush Set. £24.99
I’m really impressed with this Pure Mineral Contour Kit It’s a really nice product and I was surprised with how well it worked with my pale skin. Included in the kit is a Brightening powder, Contour powder and a Highlighting powder, Plus three handy brushes.
. Flat Highlight Brush
. Angled Contour Brush
. Fan Glow Brush
The brightening powder doesn’t really work for me as it’s a banana powder and my skin is too pale. However I have used it a few times so that I can give my opinion. As it’s a mineral powder it is very lightweight and doesn’t cause the foundation and concealer to crease or cause it to go cakey.
The contour shade is perfect for my pale skin, it’s a light brown shade and gives the perfect amount of colour it doesn’t look muddy like some contour shades do and it blends really well. It’s buildable so you can have a natural looking contour or go all out glam.
The highlighter is subtle but perfect for a natural make-up look. Even if you just want to wear it without makeup it works well. I did use the fan brush to apply it but im not really a big fan of the smaller fan brushes and prefer to use a nice fluffy brush to apply highlighter.
I found the best way to use these powders is to tip a small amount out onto a jar lid or something similar and that way you can get an even amount product onto the brush and have more control as to where you are applying your make-up. I tried just tipping some into the lid and it didn’t work to well. The brushes are really soft and apply the powders really well.
I do enjoy using these mineral powders and will continue to use them.
50 Shades Of Pink – Lip Contour Palette £19.99
The stunning. 50 Shades Of Pink Lip Contour Palette has 50 different shades of pink with something to suit all complexions. They have also included a handy double ended brush, With one side for lining and contouring and the other end for filling in the lips.
These lovely satin shades ranging from a really light pink to deep dark pink, Which means you can get creative and mix shades together, create ombre, highlight or even just wear your favourite shade alone.
These lipsticks are so silky and have a beautiful shine and feel hydrating which I really like and feel nice to wear i have been enjoying playing around with this palette and love to wear the darker shades with just a touch of highlight.
As with all satin lipsticks they don’t last as long as a matte so what I have been doing is applying my full lip colour then i lightly brush some translucent powder over the whole lip which then turns it matte, I will do this before adding the highlight colour im using and then add a little bit more translucent powder to set the lip.
There are hundreds of combinations, I do find that some of the lightest shades are very pale and do need a few applications to achieve a nice even colour. If you just want to add a touch of colour to the lips I find that using a clean finger and dabbing it on the lip. This will also take away some of the sheen from the lipstick.
These lipsticks can also be used as a blush to add a beautiful flush of colour to the cheeks, I have also used the mid & darker shades on my lid as a base to give the eyeshadow a stronger colour, I have found that it’s best to blend them out with some eyeshadow on the brush to achieve a better result.
I highly recommend these products they also make fantastic gifts too. I also recommend checking out their other products too they have a huge selection of beauty products and great deals too. I’m looking forward to trying more of their products.
Cougar have weekly ‘Freebie Fridays’ giving away a range of products and all they ask is that you pay for the postage costs, How awesome is that, who doesn’t love a freebie especially beauty products!

Cougar Beauty have joined up with Breast Cancer Haven charity, This is taken from their website…
“We chose to work with Breast Cancer Haven, as it is a charity very close to our hearts. Breast Cancer affects millions of people worldwide, with 1 in 8 women in the UK alone developing the disease, and 1 in 870 men.
We decided we wanted to give something back to Haven, for all their hard work and help they offer to families and those affected with the diagnosis. We are committed to donating £1.00 from every ‘50 shades of Pink’ retail purchase direct to the Breast Cancer Haven.”
I think more brands should do the same as these charities rely on donations to help those in need.
